The New York State Model Schools process enables schools to define their path for implementing learning standards and assessment through instructional technology planning, customized professional development, and peer review and demonstration.
DCMO BOCES Model Schools Goals:
- To train and support teachers in technologies that promote effective instruction and the integration of technology and telecommunications in all content areas K-12.
- To identify and explore new technologies which facilitate the delivery of instruction to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
- To promote professional communication and staff/curriculum development through telecommunications.
- To assist the development of curriculum, integrating technology based on the NYS Learning Standards.
- To asses needs and provide staff development strategies and programs which most effectively train teachers to integrate technology in the curriculum that aligns with school improvement plans.
- To assess the impact of educational technology on teaching and learning.
We believe that in order for Model Schools to be successful it is important that each school in the DCMO BOCES region has representation and participation in Model Schools.
